Here are a few recent things I have learned over the years...seen as I´m now "old" I wish I´d known these earlier:
- a real friend is worth the world...whereas a fake friend means nothing
- it´s okay to not be okay/happy all the time
- working hard is essential but you have to know your limits, too
- sometimes you have to soothe yourself
- noone can bring you down or make you feel inferior without your consent
- smiling and thinking "fuck you" is the best thing to do in some situations...
-...in others you will need to speak up and fight back
- friends and family are more important than guys/girls
- never settle for anything you´re not happy with
- if you want something, go get it
- don´t be afraid to cut people out of your life. (this is a particularly hard one for me but it´s essential!
)
. a little getaway weekend can work wonders
- making lists is good
- drink a lot of coffee/tea if you need to be productive. also wear sweatpants and slippers
- if it´s all too much: close your eyes and take THREE DEEP BREATHS
- ask for help if you need it
- when in doubt a gin and tonic helps!!
- and finally: if you´re not happy with something, change it!
That´s it for now. I´m still working on most of these - apart from the gin one - but I guess noone´s perfect :D

Busy times
If there´s one thing that will kill your productivity it is stress. Because I´ve been moving, keeping up with uni work, working like crazy and sorting out some personal things the past few weeks have been absolutely insane. Sometimes you have so much to do that you just don´t know where to start, so you end up doing nothing. Well I´ve been fighing the urge to just pull the blanket over my head and sleep all day so here´s my personal list of things that help increase creativity and motivation:
- making yourself a cup of tea/coffee
- relaxing music in the background if you have to come up with ideas
- a clean and organized workspace
- breaks in between
- reward yourself after you´ve done everything
...and if nothing works: stop hating youself, do something else instead and try again the next day. Because really, if you´re not going to be productive anyway why not spend your time doing something you enjoy instead? Exactly.
